Zonguldak Resort Information

Zonguldak is a city and the capital of Zonguldak Province in the Black Sea region of Turkey. It was established in 1849 as a port town for the nearby coal mines in Ereğli and the coal trade remains its main economic activity. According to the 2009 census, Zonguldak has a population of 108.792.

Summers are warm and humid, and the average temperature is around 21°C in July and August. Winters are cool and damp, and the average temperature is around 6°C in January and February. The water temperature like in the whole Turkish Black Sea coast is always cool and fluctuates between 8° and 20°C throughout the year.

Zonguldak has very beautiful beaches in Kopuz and Uzunkum, where you may choose one of the tea gardens or restaurants to watch the perfect scene around. If you are a nature-lover photography then you will take plenty of photos. Cerberus stayed in a cave called "Cehennemagzi" (Entrance to Hell) which is located near Kavakderesi outside Eregli. It has fine beaches and is a haven for ships. When passing through do not forget to taste the delicious strawberries of Eregli which are among the best in the world.

 

Shopping & Gifts

Zonguldak is a city of supermarkets. You can find everything in the huge shopping centers and malls. If you are searching for souvenirs you must visit the small towns and villages around the city. Villages in the bushes offer you a great landscape besides lovely handicrafts. In the open bazaar of the city, you can see little wooden ornaments that will fit to your creative decoration sense. In the town of Devrek, you can buy an astonishing cane full of ornaments of local design.

 

Outdoor Sports

In the waters sports center in Erdemir Beach, you can perform water ski and windsurf. Besides trekking, mountaineering, wild life photography and jeep safari are available. Every summer yacht rally is organized in the region. Yachting has become also very popular in the last few years. Wildlife is well preserved. Hunting is popular among locals during fall and spring. Both salt water and fresh water fishing are available.
