Izmir is the third largest, and one of the most beautiful provinces of Turkey. The city lies at the head of a long and narrow gulf furrowed by ships and yachts on the shores of an attractive bay, backed by mountains and facing the sea, this site offers a fine appearance, both with its natural panorama and its modern and orderly views. Walking around this charming city, one can see a wide range from the oldest remains, to the most recent establishments. The symbol of Izmir Clock Tower, stands in the heart of the city at Konak Square, also in the city center, there is the Culture Park where the famous annual International Fair is held. For those of you who would like to shop, Kemeralti Bazaar offering unlimited shopping opportunities and you will find almost anything you want. Fascinating antiques, both fine and fun jewellery, a great variety of clothing, and the dried figs and raisins for which Izmir is famous. The best modern and most elegant shops are on the Kordon Promenades in Alsancak, Karsiyaka and on Cumhuriyet Avenue. After a busy days shopping why not wine and dine yourselves in one of the fish restaurants in this colorful area serving up the local specialties of tranca and cipura, two types of sea bream or take a horse- drawn carriage along the coastline and watch the amazing scenery while you relax.

The modern city shopping centers such as Carrefour, Kipa and EGS Park offers variety of European lifestyle. Such as Marks and Spencer's, Laura Ashley and Mothercare stores, Parliament Cinema Club showing the latest releases in English with Turkish sub-titles, high-tech sport centers and much more for you to discover.

The nearest seaside resort is Cesme, 30 minutes drive away from Izmir town centre. Alternatively Kusadasi is 45 minutes drive to the south and the main international airport Adnan Menderes is located 20 minutes away from the town centre.
